SAYULITA

Our sleepy little fishing village is growing up.  We are getting new roads, new water systems, electrical and telephone lines are going underground (in the center of town).  The most amazing thing is how many wonderful restaurants there are around.  The street taco places that are everywhere are generally really good bargains when it comes to lunches and dinners.  They have tacos made from many things including fish and beef, pork and chicken.  Some of the local drinks are jamaica (hibiscus flower water) and vanilla water (horchata) both which I encourage you to try.  The food is really very good.

We encourage you to discover some of your own favorites, but if you’d like suggestions, please visit our Guest Info page.

Food Cleanliness: Have fun, and no worries.  The food here is generally locally raised and most people are very clean about preparation (I think Mexico, or at least Sayulita finally got tired of it’s tourist friends getting turista! ).  Let your eyes and nose be your guide.

Safety Note:  Sayulita has a history of being a safe community for foreigners.  However with this said, this is Mexico and response by police or ambulance is not reliable and is not what it is in the States, so take the necessary precautions.........such as not walking alone late at night especially on the beach, do not buy drugs, and don't leave belongings unattended anywhere around town.
